Lasting Memories 200th challenge celebration blog hop. Use Buttons!!!

Hello and thanks for stopping by! We're hopping with celebration and excitement this week :) Yep, we're having a blog hop in celebration of our 200th post Lasting Memories! Our challenge? BUTTONS! We are looking for buttons, buttons everywhere on those layouts this week! Along the way, you'll see that some of us are offering a little candy on our blogs but you have to visit us to see who! We've also gotten a little creative with our buttons so we hope you'll be inspired! You should have arrived here from DENISE'S blog and if this is your first stop, please be sure to hop back to Lasting Memories to start the hop so you don't miss a thing! Each of us has a letter for you to collect that will spell out a scrapbook themed word, so don't forget to jot down my letter which you'll see below. Once you've completed the hop, leave your answer in the comment section back at Lasting Memories. Comments will be moderated so there's no peeking! Then you have to enter your LO and guess what?! Our grand prize winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from A2Z Scrapbooking Store!! Awesome right?? Oh!!
And one MORE thing! I'm also offering up some candy ..
Just leave a comment and I will choose with random.org a winner after August 1st.

Now time to reveal my complete layout!
I kept this super simple for I wanted the various circles to represent the feel of a pool, bubbles, water etc.  Added my buttons around the title so it would stand out a bit.  :)

Your next stop is ELIZABETH'S blog!! And don't forget to jot down my letter which is S.

Have fun and happy hopping!

"You're the Best" - Fresh Brewed Designs - In the sky challenge

Happy Tuesday!!  This is a quick post.  It is soooo incredibly HOT here... so not only does this card show where I would rather be, it's one I made for a special someone that does a ton for all of us.  :)

I was inspired by the challenge over at FRESHED BREWED DESIGNSwhere it's an
"In the Sky" challenge.
So here is my SCENE with sun, clouds, birds galore.

I also had the privilege of getting to use this image called
"Granny Beach Chair" from the Fresh Brewed Digi Store Freshed Brewed Digi Store itself.
I love it!!
It's perfect!!
I am getting this linked up with FBD by the hair of my chinny chin chin.
If you would like to join the challenge, there are a few hours left.
Thanks for taking a peak.  Hope you are cool where you are!

Lasting Memories # 198 "My Country Tis of Thee"

Happy Holiday weekend and week to all of my US and Canada friends!!
With that said, the newest Lasting Memories challenge to kick off JULY is themed
"My Country Tis of Thee."
LMCB 198
Do a layout about a place you like to visit in your country.
I was able to to do this no problem!
There are 2 main places we love to go to every 4th of July... and in 2012, we were able to go to both of them!  :)
My Husband's parents live on an island right on the water, so the beach we went to for the actual 4th.  Family, fishing, food, fun and fireworks!
Then from July 6th to 8th, we trekked over to my parent's summer place that is on a river where there is a parade, pool time, boat time, beach time and then a great fireworks show!!
We are fortunate to be able to have these places to visit and have our fun!!

I am also entering this in the Color Throwdown Challenge 299

Very Vanilla

Thanks all for taking a peak!!  :)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 - "Computer Guy"

Gosh, here I am again making another masculine card.  Not my specialty.  But found this GREAT digi image from  Mo's Digital Pencil to help me.  So glad this image was available!  It's perfect for a card I made a family friend that is a computer wizard.  He helps us often with ours!  Can't thank him enough!!  He'll get a kick out of this.  :)

With the exception of the image, all the other products are from Stampin' Up.  In fact the patteren paper is a REALLY OLD retired set called "Tree House."  It's perfect for the masculine colors I needed.  Then some candy enamel dots, twine, colored with SU pencils and Prisma Pencils and voila.  Not a lot of fluff to add.

I also used the sketch from SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY 2 #19 for my starting point.
I printed my image a tad bigger than I intended... so didn't include the circle part of the sketch, but the rest is all there.

Thanks for taking a look!  I'm glad  was able to join this sketch challenge.  It's been a while.
Happy Weekend all!
