LMCB 86 - It's a "TREASURE" hunt - Family Bike Ride (2 page Layout)

Happy Sunday everyone!!  Sundays brings the newest challenge over at Lasting Memories!!
We're going on a TREASURE HUNT!!!  Scrap about something you TREASURE and tell us the story behind it!!  This could be family, a vacation spot, your home, a piece of jewelry... anything really!!

I chose to share about our FIRST Family Bike Ride!!  I TREASURE the simple things we do as a family... for I know that as the kids get older... things will get busier and before you know it, they are adults and on their own.  We always try to pick one day out of the week, usually Saturdays or Sundays, and do something that involves all of us!!  This is a spontaneous bike ride we took last year.  Thought it was going to rain.. but we didn't care.  It was fun and the kids loved it!!

Here is a close-up of the bikes (cut from Going Places Cricut cart) with some added bling in the centers of the tires.

And a close-up of the journaling.

Julie
is also giving an awesome prize to one lucky winner!!! Check this out!!
Just link up your layout by Saturday, May 5th at 9pm EST HERE for your chance to WIN!!  Or be a part of our Top 3 or be Featured throughout the week.

I am also joining the Gals over at FANTABULOUS CRICUT Challenge Me Monday # 108 for their "On the Go" challenge.  Use a Bike, Car, Train, Plane, Bus... anything that MOVES.  I was inspired by their challenge to scrap these photos that have been sitting in a pile for the last year!  :-)

And... I also followed another wonderful sketch from SKETCHES IN THYME - sketch 76.  I varied it slightly with my photos.. for I had 5 photos to use instead of 4.  But otherwise, the whole sketch it theirs!!

Thanks so much for taking a peak!!  I hope you all have a great Sunday!  Now we are off to do some Family stuff.  I think another layout will be in the works!!  :-)

40th Party in the Rain (12 x 12 layout) - LMCB 85... using stencils

Oh where oh where have I been?  Well no where.  HERE!  Just not in the blogging world lately.  It seems that when it rains it pours!  I won't bore you with the details, for I'm pretty sure we all experience LIFE.  :-)So I am hoping my post tonight is the start of some craftiness to come this weekend.  I have lots of mojo in my head... so stay tuned!

I have a layout that I want to share that I created for the current challenge going on over at Lasting Memories.  LMCB 85 is to use Stencils.  If you don't own stencils, make up your own or trace something.  That counts!!  And we want to see what you can do!!  There is a $10.00 Gift Certificate up for grabs.  You have until Saturday 4/28 at 9pm EST to join us!!

My stencils are the Balloons.  I didn't think I owned any... then I remembered giving my daughter some a few years ago.  So I, for the first time, borrowed some of her supplies.  I think they are ancient.  Here is a photo...
Does anyone recognize these?  I want to say OLD Creative Memories??  But I could be very wrong!!

My layout was also inspired by the challenge over at The Paper Variety which was to "Scraplift" one of the DT projects or create something based off of one of their tutorials.  The challenge is already closed... but being that I was inspired... here is the DT project from CAROLI that I followed...

And last but certainily not least... I am entering my layout with some former DT friends of mine over at the  4 Crafty Chicks.  Their challenge this week is NO STAMPING.  My layout is all paper, die cuts, stencils, sticker alphas and a jounaling pen.  Fun things to see over there... go take a peak.

Feel Free to Snag Our Badge!

That's it for tonight.  I hope to be back tomorrow with more inspirations for you!!  Thanks for visiting!

Springtime, Rainbows and Banners!!

Oh Happy Friday!  I have a quick, clean and simple card to share with you that is created using mostly punches!!  Gotta love that!!  I am also inviting you to PLAY with us over at the newest challenge over at Paper Lovin' Gals!!  It's all about Banners and Bright fun colors!!

Here is my Creation...

Here is the Inspiration Photo to follow for PLG 27!!

I also followed the sketch from Freshly Made sketches # 30

And now a little about my card.  I used a Creative Memories circle cutter for the yellow of the sun.  I used the Star Punch from SU for the orange triangles.  Just simply punched the star and then snipped off the triangle ends.  I used the 2 1/2" round scallop punch for the bigger sized clouds and the cupcake punch for the smaller clouds.  Both of these from SU.  I used the 1/2" punch from SU for the small circles that are from the BRIGHTS DSP collection from SU to create my banner at the top.  So 4 different punches and my card was basically finished!!  :-) As you can see the circles are folded in half around some linen thread for my banner and after placing my clouds in the just perfect formation, I outlined with a black journaler for added definition.  Stamped the sentiment and everything sits on Tempting Turquoise DSP from Stampin' Up... and VOILA!!  Done!!

Thank you so much for visiting!  I hope you can find some time to play over at Paper Lovin' Gals Challenge # 27.  You have until Wednesday, April 18th at 8pm PST.  So lots of time!!  Head on over to see what the DT came up with!!

The challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches # 30 ends Monday, April 16th at NOON PST.

Have fun it all of your crafting endeavors!!

Good morning everyone!  Hope you all had a fantastic Easter??!!  We were celebrating with my Hubby's side of the family.  And what GORGEOUS weather we finally are having!!  First time in a while that I was able to take "Outdoor" pictures on Easter.  We usually have rain.  Good day all around!!

I've been on a card making frenzy lately and have another fun card to share with you...

I know this little guy looks not very happy stuck in this wine glass... but this is for my Sister-in-Law that loves her cat and loves her wine... so it was perfect for her.  I tried to spin it off as a more of a HAPPY card.  I think it will work.
I am entering this over at Digi Darla's Ch # 7 - All About Flowers that just started!!  I originally made this for their "All about buttons" challenge... but missed the entry time.  So No... LMCB 82 and NIKKI SIVILS "Exit Here" collection

Hello to all of my crafty friends!!  It feels so good to get this post up... for I have been on a mini crafting break. Non-intentional!!  Again... life just gets busy... and when I have a crafty creation to share, it means that I had time to relax.  :-)
Today is the beginning of another FUN challenge at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges.

This weeks challenge is "April Fools" !!  Show us your 'sneaky tricks'!!  Ideas:  Hidden Journaling, hidden photos, hidden tips and tricks.  Well... I think I have ALL that to show you with my layout.  Warning... PICTURE heavy!!

My fun 2 page layout is all about our 2nd day this past summer on our Ocean Shores mini vacation.  This was a "Road Trip" theme day.  We explored the Washington Coast.  It rained an rained and wouldn't stop raining... and we  STILL had such an awesome day!!

I also want to highlight... that 95% of my layout is created with the AWESOME "Exit Here" Collection from NIKKI SIVILS.  I won this fabulous kit about a month ago and finally found time to play with it!  If you aren't familiar with Nikki Sivils products... you must check her out.  Her paper collections are very fun and whimsical!!  A must see!!

My first "Trick" to share... basic alphas... I outline with black marker so it defines a bit better.

My next fun tidbit... I do "Faux" Stitching a lot!!  Black ink pen around the borders.  White gel pen in a dot formation to "Highlight" some basic navy cardstock.  I also back the basic die cut elements on solid cardstock.  The camera and the sign are backed in NAVY.  It just gives it that extra oomph!!

This is out of order... but this is the underside of my "Hidden Journaling."  I had a lot to tell... but wanted to condense... so did the "Flip Flap" journaling. See next photo.

Here is the top of the journaling  before it FLIPS to the 2nd page.  :-)

Close-up of the LEFT page.

Close-up of the RIGHT page.

I hope you will join us this week for the newest LMCB 82 "April Fools" Challenge and show us your HIDDEN SECRETS!!

We also have a sketch for you to use if you should choose... But not mandatory.

You have until SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 2012 to link up HERE for your chance as our WINNER, part of our TOP 3 or to be FEATURED throughout the week!  Hope to see you!!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope I have inspired you to create  your next scrap layout to adorn your album!!
